The housing program is designed to meet basic housing needs, enhance neighborhood environments and encourage community pride and involvement. A total of 366 apartments are located in City Heights:

  • Hollywood Palms: 94 two, three and four bedroom apartments
  • Metro Villas: 120 one, two, three and four bedroom apartments
  • CDC-10: ten scattered site properties with a total of 132 one and two bedroom apartments
  • Casa del Sol: 20 one and two bedroom apartments

Housing and Community Development purchases and renovates existing housing stock and converts them into affordable units for individuals and families.

The department currently manages three senior housing complexes, Vista Serena (Southeast San Diego), Barrio Senior Villas (Barrio Logan), and Park Place (City Heights), and six multi-family complexes: Delta (Southeast San Diego) Park Way (City Heights), Hawthorn I & Hawthorn II (South Park), Trojan (Golden Hill), and Wightman (City Heights).

Attorneys and law student volunteers provide free legal referrals and information. Parents and community members are seen on a first-come, walk-in basis at all sites. Clinics meet during the spring and fall school terms on the days/times indicated below.
